Head of Design (AI)

Location: On-site in the Union Square, New York City office, United States

Base salary: $265,000–$365,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Set the long-term design vision and cohesive design language for the product.
• Partner with founders, product, and engineering leadership on product strategy and priorities.
• Lead, mentor, and grow the design team while hiring additional designers.
• Stay hands-on with product judgment, visual and interaction design, prototyping, and critique.
• Define intuitive AI-native interaction patterns that connect agents, complex data, and human judgment.
• Build systems and rituals for customer research, rapid prototyping, learning, and high-quality delivery.

Requirements

• Experience leading product design at an ambitious, high-growth technology company.
• Strong portfolio of shipped, high-quality products and the ability to raise design standards.
• Experience hiring and developing designers and improving an existing team.
• Ability to connect design with product strategy and influence founders, executives, and engineers.
• Experience designing sophisticated software, ideally B2B platforms, analytics, data visualization, or complex workflows.
• Hands-on proficiency with product design, prototyping, Figma, or code, plus active experimentation with AI tools.
