Principal Product Designer (AI)

Location: United States, including Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco; remote or hybrid work available

Salary: $280,000–$310,000 annual base salary

What you will do

• Lead, manage, coach, and develop a team of 3–5+ senior individual-contributor designers.
• Own and ship design work for high-leverage and ambiguous product problems.
• Set design vision, craft direction, quality standards, critique practices, and operating rhythms.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Marketing leaders to align design with business priorities.
• Own hiring and team composition while adapting the design organization as the business scales.
• Represent design in cross-functional forums and connect design work to business impact.

Requirements

• 10+ years of design experience, including experience managing and growing individual contributors.
• Strong hands-on product design craft and experience shipping high-quality work for a consumer product, creator platform, or marketplace.
• Demonstrated ability to hire, coach, develop, and retain senior designers.
• Experience partnering with Product, Engineering, and Marketing leaders.
• Ability to turn ambiguous business problems into clear design direction and balance personal craft work with team leadership.
• Demonstrable use of AI for exploration, prototyping, communication, and creation.
