Staff Software Data Engineer (Fintech)

Base pay: $202,500–$274,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and support enterprise-scale data engineering pipelines and features for QuickBooks Capital customers.
• Translate functional requirements into technical designs and specifications.
• Estimate medium- to large-complexity work and manage delivery timelines.
• Spend approximately 90% of the role on hands-on design, coding, testing, and production support.
• Resolve defects and production incidents across testing, release, and post-release environments.
• Collaborate with product management, engineering teams, and business units.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience developing data engineering pipelines and working with big data technologies.
• Strong experience with Python and Spark, including the ability to understand large existing codebases.
• Experience with PySpark, SQL, Databricks, AWS, Elasticsearch, and Kafka.
• Experience across the full software development lifecycle, software design, architecture, unit testing, and TDD.
• Experience building and supporting large-scale enterprise data engineering pipelines and data featurization.
• BS/MS in computer science or equivalent professional experience, plus strong technical communication skills.
