PRN Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 (On Call) (Pharmacy Automation)

Location: On-site at customer hospital sites in Memphis, Tennessee, United States. PRN/on-call coverage is required, with 8–10-hour shifts that may extend beyond normal business hours. Travel for training may be required.

Base compensation: $25.00–$27.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Operate and support pharmacy automation systems according to standard operating procedures.
• Manage medication inventory, restocking, returns, and formulary accuracy.
• Inspect, clean, maintain, and perform basic troubleshooting on automation equipment.
• Monitor system performance and escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate technical support team.
• Document activities and maintain compliance with Pharmacy Services policies.
• Communicate with pharmacy leadership and customers while serving as a subject matter resource when needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Active Tennessee State Board of Pharmacy Technician license or registration, as required by the state.
• Active national pharmacy technician certification, such as PTCB, CPhT, or EXCPT.
• Strong customer service, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently, stand for extended periods, lift up to 35 pounds, and work around potentially hazardous drugs.
• Proficiency with Windows, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice to have

• Hospital pharmacy and pharmacy automation experience.
• Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program.
• At least two years of hospital pharmacy automation experience.
• Experience troubleshooting automation systems and supporting pharmacy workflows.
