Pharmacy Technician III PRN-Central Operations, Casual Rotating

Location: 251 E. Huron, Chicago, IL; onsite, part-time position with rotating day and evening shifts.

Salary: USD 23.65–30.43 per hour.

What you will do

• Prepare inpatient medication orders, outpatient prescriptions, unit doses, and STAT doses.
• Prepare sterile products, IV admixtures, cytotoxic agents, and compounded dosage forms using required aseptic and protective procedures.
• Deliver medications and requisitions to nursing units and other clinical locations.
• Enter and reconcile medication orders, refill information, patient profiles, and medication records.
• Maintain inventory, emergency medication systems, emergency carts, narcotic records, and controlled-substance inventories.
• Perform pharmacy operations under the direction of a registered pharmacist while meeting quality, quantity, safety, and hazardous-waste requirements.

Requirements

• Illinois Pharmacy Technician License issued by IDFPR required.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician certification through PTCB or ExCPT through NHA required for technicians licensed after 2008.
• High school diploma.
• Newly licensed technicians must obtain certification within two years of the license effective date.
• Availability for every other Saturday and Sunday or six weekend shifts during a six-week scheduling period, plus one winter and one summer holiday.

Nice to have

• Completion of a pharmacy technician training program.
