Patient Care Technician-Psychiatric Casual Nights

Location: 12251 S. 80th Av., Palos Heights, Illinois, United States; casual night shift

Salary: $17.05–$23.02 per hour

What you will do

• Provide basic nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Monitor vital signs and blood glucose, and record intake and output.
• Assist patients with bathing, grooming, eating, and other daily activities.
• Report changes in patients’ physical, mental, and emotional conditions.
• Maintain clean patient rooms and support unit workflow, admissions, discharges, and census tracking.
• Communicate with patients, families, nursing staff, and related departments by phone, intercom, and call-light systems.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least six months of CNA experience and experience caring for behavioral health patients.
• Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician, or completion of one semester of clinical nursing education.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize changing needs, and work effectively in stressful situations.

Nice to have

• Phlebotomy experience.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing assistant or phlebotomy program.
