Pharmacy Technician - Casual PRN Variable Shifts

Location: 1000 N. Westmoreland, Lake Forest, Illinois, United States; onsite role

Salary: USD 22.58–31.61 per hour

What you will do

• Identify, fill, label, and package medications, surgical kits, medication carts, emergency carts, requisitions, and specialty items.
• Prepare sterile compounds and IV admixtures for injections and infusions, including hazardous medications, chemotherapy, and biologics.
• Deliver medications to nursing units and automated dispensing cabinets, retrieve discontinued medications, and maintain medication inventories.
• Order, receive, unpack, store, and rotate pharmaceuticals and supplies while checking for expired products.
• Handle controlled substances, reconcile dispenses, and document expired, wasted, and returned medications.
• Enter patient charges and credits and maintain required logs, records, and preparation documentation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pharmacy Technician License through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through PTCB or NHA is required for technicians licensed after 2008, within six months of hire or sooner when required by the Illinois Pharmacy Practice Act.
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.
• Ability to maintain accurate medication, inventory, controlled-substance, and patient-charge records.

Nice to have

• One year or less of related work experience and familiarity with customary pharmacy routines and procedures.
