2027 Summer Intern, Program Operations (MD; VA; SC; GA)

Location: Hybrid from Columbia, Maryland, with a minimum of two days per week in the office; or remote from Virginia, South Carolina, or Georgia, with occasional in-person meetings.

Pay: $23 per hour. The listed full-time employment pay range is $34,564.00–$58,758.00.

What you will do

• Support utility energy-efficiency program operations and delivery across multiple projects.
• Collect and analyze data, maintain Excel spreadsheets and databases, and support project tracking.
• Prepare internal and client deliverables, including semi-annual reports, presentations, and program results.
• Document processes, identify efficiency opportunities, and contribute to process improvements and automation.
• Support clean-energy program development, service-provider communications, and coordination with implementation, marketing, IT, and customer-care teams.
• Prepare and review technical specifications and calculations for energy-efficiency measures and projects when relevant to the skill set.

Requirements

• Entry-level candidate with at least 30 completed college-level credit hours by the start date.
• Preferred academic focus in energy, environmental studies, business, economics, engineering, or a related field.
• Strong quantitative, analytical, written, oral, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office and knowledge of project-management principles.
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, meet strict deadlines, and work with internal staff, clients, and vendors.
• Ability to pass any required background checks, which may include drug screening.
