Design Release Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Warren, Michigan, United States. Hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote; must be able to report to the local office. Requires 15% domestic travel to client sites.

What you will do

• Coordinate the design and integration of ECS components and systems.
• Use engineering tools and processes to develop components and achieve program milestones.
• Conduct technical design, drawing, peer, and program reviews.
• Complete and review DFMEAs and DRBFMs for parts and design changes.
• Demonstrate design compliance through analysis, development, and validation.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing teams on quality, cost, timing, buildability, and issue resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Design Release Engineer, Chassis Dimensional Engineer, Interior Dimensional Engineer, or in a related role.
• At least 5 years of experience with engineering drawings and specifications, technical writing, CAD, DFMEA plans and FIT, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and root cause analysis.
• At least 4 years of experience with Key Characteristic Designation System applicability and usage.
• At least 3 years of experience with TeamCenter and change management processes.
• At least 2 years of experience working on product launch lifecycles.
