Principal Electrical Engineer, Advanced Development (MedTech)

Location: Hybrid in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, United States

Annual salary: $131,900–$165,000, plus eligibility for an annual bonus

What you will do

• Develop and prototype electronic hardware and systems for advanced development projects.
• Create analog and digital designs for evaluating new technologies and enhancing existing products.
• Translate customer clinical needs and system requirements into preliminary hardware requirements and solutions.
• Coordinate with scientific, clinical, product development, regulatory, quality, and manufacturing functions.
• Transition validated electrical designs and prototypes into product development and commercialization.
• Develop verification plans, support hardware/software integration, and identify and resolve technical risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering or science discipline; a master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 6 years of analog and digital electronics design and development experience in an R&D environment.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and experience developing hardware that meets customer, cost, and manufacturing requirements.
• In-depth knowledge of analog and digital design, hardware/software integration, and electromechanical systems.
• Working knowledge of MATLAB, simulation and schematic capture tools, and Python or C++.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, prioritization, and teamwork skills.
