Senior Software Engineer, Growth (User Activation)

Location: United States; Los Angeles, CA or San Francisco, CA. Fully remote or hybrid work is available.

Salary: $190,000–$215,000 base salary for roles based in San Francisco and Los Angeles, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Build, measure, and iterate on experiments that improve user activation, engagement, and retention.
• Partner with product, design, and data science to identify growth opportunities and create a prioritized technical roadmap.
• Develop onboarding flows, in-product promotions, and re-engagement campaigns across the growth stack.
• Design and integrate services, APIs, internal and third-party integrations, and cloud infrastructure.
• Instrument and analyze product usage data to guide product and engineering decisions.
• Improve system reliability, scalability, and observability while mentoring peers on experimentation practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally with growth, activation, or lifecycle-focused teams.
• Experience with product experimentation, A/B testing, data interpretation, and evidence-based decision-making.
• Strong full-stack skills with TypeScript, Node.js, React, PostgreSQL or MySQL, GraphQL, and AWS.
• Experience designing and integrating services and APIs in cloud-based, service-oriented architectures.
• Knowledge of SQL, data modeling, and data warehouses such as Snowflake or BigQuery.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development tools and clear collaboration with product, design, and data partners.
