AI Security & Governance Trainer (Freelance)

Location: Remote in Portugal with occasional in-person sessions in Portugal; flexible, session-based schedule.

What you will do

• Design and deliver AI security and governance training sessions and workshops for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Cover Shadow AI, safe workplace use of generative AI, enterprise AI governance, and AI security.
• Explain risks including data exposure, hallucinations, third-party tool risks, and intellectual property concerns.
• Guide participants in creating governance frameworks with use-case inventories, risk classifications, approval workflows, ownership structures, and acceptable use policies.
• Deliver technical sessions on prompt injection, data leakage, integrations, guardrails, monitoring, AI application architecture, and threat modelling.
• Develop checklists, decision guides, inventory templates, threat modelling templates, and practical scenarios while co-delivering sessions with GRC and cybersecurity trainers.

Requirements

• At least two years of hands-on experience in AI or generative AI security, adoption, or governance, supported by a solid cybersecurity background.
• Practical experience with enterprise generative AI tools and LLM-based applications.
• Strong knowledge of OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications, MITRE ATLAS, and NIST AI RMF.
• Experience with AI governance, threat modelling, secure-by-design practices, RAG, agents, integrations, identity management, secrets handling, and logging.
• Knowledge of the EU AI Act, GDPR, and data protection requirements.
• Fluency in Portuguese and English is required. Proven experience as a trainer, speaker, or facilitator is also required.

Nice to have

• ISO 42001 Lead Implementer or Auditor, IAPP AIGP, CISSP, or trainer certification such as CCP.
