Sr Application Platform Engineer

Location: Hybrid in Frisco, Texas, United States; requires on-site work as needed and residence within commuting distance of Frisco. No relocation assistance is offered.

Salary: USD $107,430–$199,510 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

What you will do

• Embed with product engineering groups and participate in standups, design reviews, sprint planning, architecture decisions, and release readiness calls.
• Migrate services to golden paths and internal developer platforms while removing barriers to self-service delivery.
• Review code and architecture for production readiness, operational reliability, and 24/7 SRE support.
• Establish monitoring, alerting, runbooks, failover strategies, and observability using tracing, metrics, logs, and alerting tools.
• Own patching, performance, load, soak testing, incident support, and remediation across application and infrastructure boundaries.
• Design CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and Harness and build reproducible infrastructure with Terraform and Terragrunt.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of hands-on experience in software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, or SRE, including production coding.
• Experience working directly within product engineering teams and resolving production issues across application and infrastructure layers.
• Build-capable in Go and Python, with troubleshooting ability in Node.js/TypeScript, Dart/Flutter, Java, .NET, C++, and C.
• Hands-on AWS and production Kubernetes experience, plus working knowledge of GCP/GKE and Docker.
• Expertise with Terraform, Terragrunt, infrastructure as code, GitHub Actions, Harness, automated quality gates, and artifact or image caching.
• Knowledge of databases, distributed systems, message queues, integration and end-to-end testing, performance testing, security tooling, and supply-chain remediation.

Nice to have

• Mobile DevOps experience with Fastlane, Flutter/Dart, Swift, or Kotlin.
• Experience with Kong, Okta, Backstage-based developer platforms, or internal service frameworks.
• LLM integration, prompt engineering, cloud architecture certifications, or Kubernetes certifications.
