STEAM Project Designer, K-12 Education

Location: Bay Area, Oakland, California, United States. Hybrid office and work-from-home policy; occasional visits to camp locations, clients, events, or meetings may be required, with up to 10% travel depending on location.

Salary: USD 70,000–80,000 per year, plus eligibility for a 5% annual bonus.

What you will do

• Design, prototype, test, and refine hands-on STEAM projects for kindergarten through eighth-grade learners.
• Specify project materials in detail and collaborate with Supply Chain on samples and program constraints.
• Create multimedia facilitation guides that help instructors deliver projects consistently and confidently.
• Design and occasionally deliver instructor training for Galileo programs.
• Observe programs in the field, gather instructor feedback, and analyze surveys and customer feedback.
• Contribute to educational product priorities, including curriculum templates, content-access applications, professional development, and operational tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent subject-matter expertise in education, art and design, engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in educational settings designing hands-on activities that engage students in creative problem-solving.
• Experience creating multimedia content, including basic photography and video production.
• Understanding of K-8 enrichment environments, educator needs, and children’s developmental capacities.
• Demonstrated ability to develop STEAM project ideas, clear instructional materials, and explanations of complex concepts.
• Must be based in the Bay Area and able to work in a hybrid office and work-from-home arrangement.
