Curriculum Design and Development Lead (Instructional Systems Design)

Location: Remote, associated with Washington, D.C.; periodic travel may be required to U.S. and overseas locations for program activities, customer meetings, operations, curriculum development, pilots, and validation.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, revision, modernization, maintenance, and version control of the TAP curriculum portfolio.
• Manage curriculum projects from needs assessment and instructional analysis through design, Government review, piloting, validation, implementation, evaluation, dissemination, and sustainment.
• Apply instructional systems design and adult learning methods to instructor-led, virtual instructor-led, and asynchronous web-based training.
• Oversee instructor and participant guides, lesson plans, scripts, exercises, assessments, job aids, performance support tools, and web-based training.
• Coordinate with Government project managers, VA subject matter experts, the TAP Operations Lead, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor schedules, risks, dependencies, approvals, deliverables, pilots, and multi-location travel while briefing stakeholders on progress and issues.

Requirements

• Either a master's degree in curriculum development, instructional systems design, education, instructional technology, or a related field plus at least 5 years of relevant experience, or at least 10 years of progressive instructional systems design and curriculum development experience.
• At least one relevant professional certification is required under the progressive-experience qualification path.
• Experience managing complex curriculum development programs, multi-day training programs, instructional materials, and training delivered across geographically dispersed locations.
• Experience coordinating multiple-location travel for curriculum development, training, pilots, or validation activities.
• Ability to manage concurrent curriculum activities and stakeholders and work with Government program managers and subject matter experts throughout the curriculum lifecycle.
• Strong written, verbal, project management, and stakeholder coordination skills.

Nice to have

• Experience developing training for VA, the Department of War, other federal agencies, military populations, or Veterans.
• Experience with Articulate 360/Storyline, Adobe InDesign, or comparable instructional development tools.
• Experience with Section 508 accessibility requirements, formal course pilots, validation, assessment design, and training evaluation.
