Manufacturing Expansion Transition Technician (Pharmaceutical Manufacturing)

Location: GB Cambridge; onsite shift-based work at the Bard Manufacturing Facility

What you will do

• Support Cell Leads with production targets, shift coverage, equipment preparation, changeovers, and operational readiness in assigned legacy manufacturing areas.
• Monitor production performance indicators including changeover time, run rates, downtime, yield, and asset utilization, escalating issues as needed.
• Participate in root cause investigations, problem-solving, Kaizen projects, waste reduction, yield improvement, and process optimization.
• Operate, clean, service, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment, working with Engineering on equipment-related issues and corrective actions.
• Maintain production documentation, support validation activities, and raise Documentation Change Requests where required.
• Maintain 5S, housekeeping, stock control, GMP compliance, and health and safety standards throughout the work area.

Requirements

• Minimum of four GCSEs at Grade C/Level 4 or above, including Mathematics and English, or equivalent qualifications.
• Experience working in a GMP-regulated environment.
• Experience cleaning, servicing, or operating production equipment.
• Understanding of GMP principles, pharmaceutical manufacturing practices, quality systems, batch records, and manufacturing documentation.
• Knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, Continuous Improvement, Total Productive Maintenance, and Autonomous Maintenance principles.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a shift-based manufacturing environment, including hot and humid conditions, PPE/RPE use, manual handling, and exposure to approved cleaning chemicals and pharmaceutical active ingredients.

Nice to have

• A-Level qualifications or equivalent vocational qualifications.
• Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Experience supporting process equipment maintenance activities.
• Knowledge of regulated manufacturing processes and production operations.
