Sr. Electrical Design Engineer (Medical Devices)

Location: Hybrid role based in Acton, Massachusetts, United States; business travel may be required.

Annual base salary: $86,700–$130,050 for U.S.-based positions, with potential incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and sustain low-power, battery-operated electronics for wearable insulin delivery devices.
• Generate design requirements, build prototypes, implement designs, and conduct design reviews and verification activities.
• Create test requirement matrices, procedures, methods, and fixtures for design verification.
• Analyze electrical failures and improve product designs and manufacturing processes.
• Support human factors, usability, design validation, risk management, component qualification, and design changes.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, vendors, and external design partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 3 years of related electrical engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Working knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, low-power embedded systems, computer-aided design, and electrical engineering laboratory equipment.
• Knowledge of analog and power supply design, digital circuits, microprocessors, battery-operated embedded systems, and PCB layout design rules.
• Ability to lead technical projects, manage multiple priorities, communicate across organizational levels, and collaborate cross-functionally.
• Experience or familiarity with medical device design controls, FDA guidelines, electrical safety, and EMC standards is advantageous.

• Medical device industry experience.
• RF design and Bluetooth Low Energy protocol experience.
• National Instruments LabVIEW experience.
• Familiarity with FDA design and manufacturing guidelines.
