TL;DR
Sr. Software Engineer (BSP & Fabric) (Space Computing): Building the lowest-level software stack for accelerator compute payloads in an orbital data center constellation, with an accent on embedded Linux BSP development, hardware bring-up, and high-speed fabric management. Focus on designing resilient in-flight monitoring and recovery systems, validating GPU-to-GPU communications, and debugging complex hardware interactions with limited observability.

Location: Denver, Colorado, United States

Base pay: $181,626–$254,275 annually for Colorado applicants; Washington range: $197,529–$276,539 annually.

Company

hirify.global develops reusable space vehicles and systems and is building Sunrise, a satellite constellation of orbital data centers.

What you will do

  • Develop and own the embedded Linux Board Support Package for accelerator compute modules, including bootloaders, kernel bring-up, drivers, interconnect enumeration, and the hardware abstraction layer.
  • Lead software bring-up and validation of high-speed compute fabrics, including GPU-to-GPU collective communications.
  • Implement in-flight health monitoring for accelerator temperatures, ECC errors, power draw, and interconnect performance.
  • Design automated recovery mechanisms for radiation-induced soft errors and system resilience.
  • Define API boundaries between platform software, inference runtimes, and job orchestration services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 6+ years of embedded Linux BSP or low-level platform software development experience.
  • Hands-on experience bringing up and validating accelerator hardware such as GPUs or TPUs.
  • High proficiency in C, C++, and Python for embedded systems.
  • Familiarity with CUDA or ROCm and collective communication libraries such as NCCL or RCCL.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice to have

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in a relevant discipline.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with large-scale accelerator-cluster fabric management, pre-silicon emulation, FPGAs, or early-stage reference hardware.
  • Experience designing software for high-reliability, fault-tolerant, remote, or inaccessible systems.
  • Understanding of AI and machine learning applications in engineering.

Culture & Benefits

  • Safety, collaboration, inclusion, and engineering innovation are emphasized.
  • Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, and paid parental leave.
  • 401(k) with up to 5% company match and an education support program.
  • Stock options for regular employees working at least 20 hours per week.
  • Up to four weeks of paid time off and up to 14 company-paid holidays.

Hiring process

  • Blue’s standard background check is required for all positions.
  • Additional checks may apply if the role requires work on a military installation.
