M&A Analyst (Fintech)

What you will do

• Support the evaluation and execution of acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures, disposals, and strategic investments.
• Build and maintain DCF, comparable-company, and precedent-transaction financial models.
• Assist with financial, commercial, and operational due diligence, including analysis of financial statements, performance, and risks.
• Manage data rooms, coordinate external advisers, and maintain internal reporting on the international M&A pipeline.
• Conduct market, industry, and competitor research and contribute to business cases and strategic recommendations.
• Prepare investment memoranda, board papers, management reports, valuation summaries, and sensitivity analyses while supporting post-merger integration planning.

Requirements

• 2:1 bachelor’s degree or international equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Internship or full-time experience in M&A, corporate finance, or a related field.
• Understanding of financial modelling, valuation concepts, accounting principles, and financial statements.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, communication, prioritisation, and organisational skills.
• Ability to collaborate with Finance, Legal, Tax, HR, Treasury, IT, senior leadership, external advisers, and target company representatives.

Nice to have

• Progress toward or interest in ACA, ACCA, CFA, or an equivalent professional qualification.
• Experience with Capital IQ, PitchBook, Bloomberg, FactSet, or similar financial databases.
• Interest in or exposure to the insurance and financial services sectors.
