Strategic Finance Associate UK (Insurance): Building financial models, business plans, forecasts, performance frameworks and board reporting for a growing motor insurance business with an accent on strategic planning, commercial analysis and cross-functional decision support. Focus on investigating performance drivers, automating finance processes, developing actionable recommendations and driving strategic workstreams through execution.
Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid workplace. Work from anywhere for up to 30 days per year is available as a benefit.

What you will do
- Lead strategic planning, forecasting, scenario analysis, financial modelling and business planning for the UK business.
- Partner with UK business leaders to analyse performance, build business cases, monitor KPIs and support commercial and operational decisions.
- Own strategic and cross-functional projects for the UK CFO and UK Leadership, from problem definition and analysis through recommendations and execution.
- Identify opportunities to simplify and automate finance processes and improve their efficiency, effectiveness and scalability.
- Prepare clear, insightful reporting and narratives for the UK Board of Directors and Executive Committee.
- Provide direction and coaching to the Strategic Finance Analyst while remaining accountable for delivery.
Requirements
- Up to 5 years of experience in Strategic Finance, FP&A, Investment Banking, Transaction Services, Strategy Consulting or a similar finance role in a start-up or scale-up.
- Excellent financial modelling and analytical capabilities, including financial models, business plans, forecasts and scenarios.
- Strong commercial judgement, critical thinking and ability to turn analysis into clear recommendations.
- Proactive, curious and high-ownership approach with strong stakeholder and project management skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain complex analysis to senior, technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Excel and presentation tools such as PowerPoint or Google Slides.
Nice to have
- Experience in insurance.
- Experience with Tableau, SQL or Python.
