Airworthiness/Aerosystems Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Hybrid role based at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma, United States; 20% travel to Hanscom AFB and Seattle. US citizenship and an active Top Secret security clearance are required.

What you will do

• Define airworthiness certification requirements and assess contractor compliance.
• Provide aircraft engineering expertise and support program-office systems engineering responsibilities.
• Evaluate aircraft and aerospace system designs against airworthiness, safety, performance, and certification requirements.
• Support Military Type Certification through design reviews, conformity assessments, verification activities, and certification recommendations.
• Develop technical data packages, certification artifacts, flight authorization documentation, and program-office reports.
• Coordinate with program offices, the FAA, Air Force certification authorities, contractors, engineering teams, and test organizations.

Requirements

• US citizenship required.
• Active Top Secret security clearance required and must be maintainable.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 12 years of relevant experience, including five years in the DoD, or 15 years of directly related experience, including eight years in the DoD.
• Extensive experience with airworthiness certification, military aircraft approval processes, technical data packages, certification artifacts, and flight authorization documentation.
• Knowledge of USAF technical airworthiness policies, AFPD 62-6, AFI 62-601, MIL-HDBK-516, FAA regulations, systems engineering, aircraft development, and test and evaluation.
• Strong technical communication, analytical, organizational, stakeholder coordination, and multidisciplinary leadership skills.
