Senior Cad Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: San Francisco, United States; U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or refugee/asylee status required.

Base salary: $140,000–$190,000 USD per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Manage top-level spacecraft assemblies in CAD and create bills of material for production transfer.
• Model and document spacecraft components and system-wide assemblies, including waveguide routes, propulsion systems, and harnessing.
• Develop CAD design methods, best practices, and procedures governing interaction between CAD and PLM.
• Review engineering drawings for components and systems.
• Teach and mentor colleagues in design and drawing best practices.
• Support recruiting, interviewing, and hiring additional team members.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a design role with strong mechanical CAD expertise.
• Experience designing and producing complex assemblies.
• Robust knowledge of SolidWorks and working experience with PDM administration.
• Mastery of GD&T and engineering drawings.
• Passion for hardware development and hands-on work in a fast-paced environment.
• U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or refugee/asylee status is required for space technology export compliance.

Nice to have

• Experience designing spaceflight components or vacuum-compatible systems.
• Experience designing and routing harnesses, waveguides, or pipes.
• Experience with surface modeling or Arena.
