Systems Engineer (Python)

Location: Chantilly, Virginia, United States; support is required on-site for a customer project.

Salary: $150,000–$250,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, highly available backend systems using Python and Neo4j.
• Develop and optimize Neo4j databases, graph algorithms, data structures, and data integrity processes.
• Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters and deployments on AWS for performance, cost, reliability, and security.
• Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to prioritize requirements and deliver software solutions.
• Implement testing strategies, participate in code reviews, and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to junior developers.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph applicable to the customer.
• Strong Python development experience and experience maintaining Neo4j databases.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, such as Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools including Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK Stack.
• Experience managing Kubernetes clusters on AWS and working in high-security environments with strict security and compliance requirements.
• Knowledge of graph algorithms and data structures; experience with Java or C++ is useful for the role.

Nice to have

• AWS Certified Developer certification at the Associate or Professional level.
• Kubernetes Certified Administrator or Kubernetes Certified Application Developer certification.
