Principal Solutions Architect

Location: Ft. Belvoir, Virginia, United States; onsite hybrid work model. Active Secret clearance required.

Salary: $210,000 annually

What you will do

• Own the target architecture and technical roadmap for an integrated mission platform.
• Translate mission and business requirements into executable technical approaches.
• Evaluate commercial platforms and define integrations with government systems and environments.
• Lead architecture reviews and resolve cross-cutting technical decisions.
• Guide engineering teams on scalability, security, interoperability, and sustainment.
• Develop prototypes and technical validation to reduce delivery risk, and brief technical decisions to senior stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 or more years of experience in solutions architecture, software architecture, systems engineering, or technology modernization.
• Broad experience with SaaS products, cloud platforms, enterprise data, software delivery, and cybersecurity.
• Experience owning architecture for a complex production system or platform.
• Experience supporting Department of Defense customers and working with engineering teams and senior stakeholders.
• Active Secret clearance and availability for onsite hybrid work at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia.

Nice to have

• Experience with DoD enterprise technology, cybersecurity, and data requirements.
• Experience supporting federal acquisition or mission-support organizations.
• Experience with large-scale defense modernization programs.
• Experience with AWS, Palantir Foundry, government data platforms, or comparable platforms.
• Relevant cloud, cybersecurity, architecture, or systems-engineering certification.
