Site Reliability Engineer (Cloud Security)

Location: Remote across the East Coast of the United States, Dublin, Ireland, or Galway, Ireland

Salary: $180,000–$271,000 per year; actual pay depends on location, skills, and relevant experience.

What you will do

• Design, operate, and harden multi-cloud infrastructure across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Build and maintain Terraform, Ansible, and Helm infrastructure-as-code and configuration-management systems.
• Own network security architecture, including egress proxies, traffic segmentation, Cloudflare, DNS, WAF, routing, and API gateway infrastructure.
• Operate and secure production GKE clusters, Tailscale zero-trust access, network policies, and GitOps deployments with ArgoCD.
• Build Grafana observability, harden GitHub and GitLab CI/CD pipelines, and improve supply-chain security.
• Lead on-call response, incident investigation, postmortems, automation, and collaboration between security and platform engineering.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in SRE, infrastructure, or platform engineering; this is not an entry-level SRE role.
• Hands-on production experience across AWS, GCP, and Azure, including VPCs, peering, firewall rules, and load balancing.
• Strong experience with Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Helm, GitOps, and production GKE operations.
• Experience designing or operating network security, egress controls, proxy architecture, Cloudflare or comparable edge/WAF platforms, and API gateways.
• Practical experience with Tailscale or another zero-trust network access solution, plus genuine on-call and incident-response experience.
• Strong scripting and automation skills in Go or Python and clear communication with security, compliance, and engineering stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Kafka or other streaming infrastructure experience for log and telemetry pipelines.
• Experience with SOC 2 or similar compliance programs, Vanta, or comparable GRC platforms.
• Background in fintech, crypto, or another regulated industry.
• Experience with Temporal or similar workflow orchestration.
• Exposure to HashiCorp Vault in a multi-cloud environment.
