Senior Site Reliability Engineer (AWS)

Location: Remote within the United States

Salary: $158,900–$234,125 per year, depending on geographic market, qualifications, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Build and operate scalable, secure, and reliable production infrastructure for the Platform SRE team.
• Design and scale AWS environments using Terraform and improve infrastructure maintainability.
• Develop reusable platform components, self-service tools, and internal developer-platform capabilities.
• Define observability standards covering system metrics, distributed tracing, and SLO frameworks.
• Improve resilience through failure-based testing, automated recovery, and capacity planning.
• Own projects end to end, mentor engineers, contribute to technical standards, and participate in a low-volume on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, cloud engineering, or software development.
• Hands-on experience operating production environments in AWS.
• Proficiency in Go or Python and experience building production-grade automation, tooling, or libraries.
• Strong experience with Terraform and container orchestration platforms such as ECS or Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, reusable platform components, observability, SLOs, and automated recovery strategies.
• Strong written and verbal communication, leadership, and reliability-practice advocacy skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with microservices architectures.
• Exposure to Kafka or other event-streaming systems.
• Experience building internal developer platforms or self-service infrastructure.
• Familiarity with systems security, compliance requirements, or hardening practices.
