TL;DR
Senior Cloud Engineer (AWS): Designing and building infrastructure, automation tools, and services for Workday Adaptive Planning’s next-generation cloud platform with an accent on AWS, infrastructure as code, deployment pipelines, monitoring, and containerization. Focus on supporting distributed systems, resolving production incidents, performing root cause analysis, and maintaining reliable cloud operations.
Location: Dublin, Ireland; hybrid with at least 50% of each quarter spent in the office or in the field
Salary: €86,400–€129,600 gross annual base salary, plus potential bonus and equity grants

What you will do
- Design and build infrastructure, tools, and services for the Adaptive Planning cloud platform.
- Support cloud infrastructure using AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Chef, and Terraform.
- Automate infrastructure, configuration management, builds, and deployments with Terraform, Chef, Jenkins, and Go.
- Build and respond to production monitoring systems, including triage, remediation, and root cause analysis.
- Plan and implement complex technical projects across multiple teams while maintaining operational runbooks.
- Support Linux and Windows systems, cloud deployments outside regular office hours, and on-call monitoring response.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of experience in DevOps, systems or infrastructure engineering, operations, or SRE.
- At least 3 years of direct experience with AWS infrastructure services, including AWS security fundamentals.
- At least 3 years of programming experience with Go, Python, Bash, or a similar language.
- Experience authoring configuration management scripts and deployment tools such as Jenkins, Puppet, Chef, or equivalent.
- Experience with monitoring and logging platforms including Splunk, Nagios, Elasticsearch, Kibana, CloudWatch, and Logstash.
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, Git, cloud databases, web servers, load balancers, and distributed systems; a bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent is expected.
Nice to have
- AWS certification.
- Experience with AWS RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL, or GCP Cloud SQL.
- Knowledge of Apache HTTP Server, Nginx, HAProxy, AWS ELB, or AWS NLB.
