Interim Head of Legal (10 Month FTC, Fintech)

Location: London, with in-office work required 4 days per week. Fixed-term contract for 10 months.

What you will do

• Lead and develop a legal team of four Legal Counsels, growing to five with the addition of a Paralegal.
• Manage client and supplier contracts across banking, regulatory, technology, employment, marketing, and property matters.
• Handle disputes and provide business-wide data protection and regulatory support.
• Act as the escalation point and strategic legal adviser for senior leadership.
• Design governance, processes, templates, systems, and workflows for the legal function.
• Support regulatory compliance, efficient contracting, risk management, and commercially focused decision-making.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of post-qualification experience with in-house legal experience.
• Strong understanding of UK and EU financial regulations.
• Experience managing and developing a legal team with a broad mandate.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Ability to provide strategic and regulatory advice in a fast-moving commercial environment.
• Ability to work in the London office 4 days per week.
