TL;DR
Senior Manager, Cloud Database (Microsoft SQL Server/Azure): Operating, engineering, and continuously improving enterprise Microsoft SQL Server platforms across hosted, on-premises, and Azure environments with an accent on performance, availability, backup and recovery, and cloud modernization. Focus on designing high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions, automating database administration, supporting migrations and upgrades, and resolving complex SQL Server and infrastructure issues.
Location: Sofia, Bulgaria. Full-time onsite role; travel required 0%–25%. No relocation provided.

What you will do
- Own the technical operation and support of hosted, on-premises, and Azure Microsoft SQL Server environments.
- Administer Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines.
- Monitor database availability, performance, capacity, backup, recovery, and overall health.
- Troubleshoot SQL Server, T-SQL, performance, connectivity, and infrastructure issues.
- Support database migrations, upgrades, patching, modernization, and cloud transformation activities.
- Design high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions, automate routine administration, and collaborate with application, infrastructure, cloud, security, and external support teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of Microsoft SQL Server database administration experience.
- Strong experience with hosted and on-premises Microsoft SQL Server environments.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure database technologies.
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server performance tuning, backup and recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery.
- Good knowledge of Windows Server, database infrastructure, troubleshooting, investigation, and problem-solving.
Nice to have
- Experience with PowerShell or database administration automation.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle RDBMS.
