Engagement Manager (AI/Data)

What you will do

• Build Frontier Engineering's presence in the New Zealand market and act as the local leader for customer engagements.
• Own the full engagement lifecycle, from opportunity qualification and discovery through contracting, delivery, expansion, and close-out.
• Lead data transformation and agentic transformation programs involving migration, modernization, governance, agents, AI applications, and intelligent workflows.
• Shape services deals with account teams, solution managers, architects, and partners, including value propositions, pricing, proposals, and Statements of Work.
• Govern complex implementations using Work Breakdown Structures, RAID logs, critical-path scheduling, change orders, financial forecasting, and margin management.
• Engage executives, manage escalations, drive value realization, and provide customer feedback to Product and Engineering teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years in sales and services delivery roles involving executives and complex technical implementation projects, or equivalent experience.
• Typically 8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree, 6+ years with a Master's degree, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with cloud data warehouse or data platform implementation, modernization, data migration, BI, and AI/ML or generative AI adoption.
• Demonstrated success with services deal shaping, discovery, value propositions, quantitative targets, project governance, change management, and project financials.
• Ability to engage C-suite stakeholders while maintaining technical credibility with engineering and data science teams.
• Must be based remotely in New Zealand and able to collaborate with teams across locations.

Nice to have

• Established network across New Zealand enterprise, government, or local SI and partner communities.
• Big 5 or boutique strategy consulting experience.
• Technical advisory experience as a solution architect or technical account manager.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake AI Data Cloud or AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud data platforms.
• Experience building a services practice or team presence in a new market.
