Packaging Development Intern (Packaging Engineering)

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands; hybrid with an average of 3 days per week in the Amsterdam office. Candidates must live in the Netherlands and remain enrolled at a school during the internship.

Salary: €550 per month internship allowance for a full-time, 40-hour internship.

What you will do

• Consolidate technical documentation and material information into the SpecRight packaging specification management system.
• Support packaging data migration, knowledge management, and continuous improvement of specification templates.
• Map packaging data for EPR, PPWR, B-Corp, and sustainability reporting, identifying gaps and improvement opportunities.
• Support the creation and maintenance of packaging specifications for renovation and new product development projects.
• Assist with packaging validation activities, industrial trials, and review of trial and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with NPD, Quality, Master Data teams, and suppliers to classify materials and maintain accurate records.

Requirements

• Currently studying Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Packaging Technology, Material Technology, Industrial Design Engineering, or Food Technology.
• Must live in the Netherlands and be enrolled at a school for the duration of the internship.
• Available from 1 February 2027 for a six-month, full-time internship.
• Interested in packaging engineering, material science, data management, and packaging compliance.
• Willing to challenge existing approaches, learn from mistakes, and contribute to Tony's mission and values.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with packaging materials such as corrugated board, paperboard, paper, aluminum, flexible packaging, or transport packaging.
• Interest in food-contact material regulations, including Regulation (EC) No. 1935/2004.
