Materials Engineer (Space)

What you will do

• Provide technical support to ESA space programmes from phase 0 to phase E, including design reviews, hardware design follow-up, manufacturing, testing, and associated analyses.
• Review industry proposals during ITT processes and contribute technical expertise to CDF studies, reports, and presentations.
• Analyse materials, equipment, and subsystems while identifying and helping resolve critical development problems.
• Participate in failure and NCR investigations, NRBs, MPCBs, technical meetings, workshops, working groups, and safety reviews.
• Contribute to technology development activities, Statements of Work, ESA standards, and technology programmes.
• Support R&D activities involving lightweight structures, structural dynamics, mechanical systems, configuration, and advanced structural materials.

Requirements

• STEM and/or business-related degree.
• At least 5 years of relevant technical work experience.
• Demonstrated experience in the space sector and thorough knowledge of ECSS space management.
• Experience with knowledge management and defining repositories containing procedures and training materials.
• Ability to coordinate teams and work autonomously and cooperatively in diverse international environments.
• Fluency in English and eligibility to work in the EU are required.
