Senior Engineer Engineer – Cloud, Core API (Hybrid)

Location: Sunnyvale, California, United States; hybrid work with 2–3 days per week onsite

Base salary: $140,000–$215,000 per year, plus eligibility for bonuses, equity grants, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead backend engineering efforts from prototypes through large-scale applications.
• Build and operate cloud systems for detecting targeted attacks and automating cyber threat intelligence production.
• Design API gateway capabilities including traffic management, authentication, authorization, monitoring, and API versioning.
• Develop platforms that scale to millions of events per second and terabytes of data per day.
• Collaborate across teams, mentor engineers, and improve architecture, performance, stability, and user experience.
• Contribute to open-source projects and continuously improve engineering practices.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience with data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, scalability, multithreading, concurrency, and parallel processing.
• Experience with horizontal scaling, sharding, and partitioning of backend systems.
• Strong engineering practices including testing, code review, continuous integration, and resilient architecture.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, test-driven, iterative environment.
• Proven experience using AI technologies to improve decision-making, workflows, efficiency, and business outcomes.

Nice to have

• Experience with Go, Scala, AWS, Cassandra, Kafka, or Elasticsearch.
• Authored or led successful open-source libraries or projects.
• Contributions to open-source communities through GitHub, Stack Overflow, or technical blogging.
• Experience in cybersecurity or intelligence.
