Sr. Engineer Engineer - Cloud, Auth (Hybrid)

Location: USA - Sunnyvale, CA; hybrid work with 2–3 days per week on-site

Base salary: $140,000–$215,000 per year, plus eligibility for bonuses, equity grants, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead backend engineering efforts from rapid prototypes to large-scale applications across CrowdStrike products.
• Build cloud systems for authentication, authorization, attack detection, and automated cyber threat intelligence production.
• Design and improve services capable of making more than 1 trillion authentication and authorization decisions per day.
• Collaborate with multiple product groups to define, build, test, and deliver backend systems.
• Improve architecture, data models, user experience, performance, and system stability.
• Mentor developers, contribute to open source, and promote effective engineering practices.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience with data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• 12+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong experience scaling backend systems through sharding, partitioning, and horizontal scaling.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, scalability, multithreading, concurrency, and parallel processing.
• Experience with testing, code reviews, resilient architecture, continuous integration, and production-quality software delivery.
• Proven experience using AI technologies to improve decision-making, workflows, efficiency, and business outcomes.

Nice to have

• Experience authoring and leading successful open-source libraries or projects.
• Exposure to Go, AWS, GCP, SpiceDB, Kafka, and Elasticsearch.
• Familiarity with SAML, OAuth, SSO, OIDC, and JWT.
• Experience in cybersecurity or intelligence fields.
