Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change Adaptation Specialist (Climate Resilience)

What you will do

• Develop project strategies, approaches, and action plans aligned with hirify.global objectives.
• Assess the provincial and regional disaster risk reduction and management landscape, including actors, early warning systems, and climate-resilient technologies.
• Analyze risk financing, insurance mechanisms, and their links to social protection for farmers and fisherfolks.
• Facilitate stakeholder consultations, training, workshops, and validation activities with Department of Agriculture offices and project partners.
• Support community preparedness simulations and Women-Led Organizations in developing climate-resilient enterprise and business plans.
• Contribute to project proposals and resource mobilization for disaster risk management and climate change adaptation interventions.

Requirements

• Advanced university degree in agriculture, climate, disaster risk reduction, food security, economics, environment, natural resources management, rural development, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant practical experience in agricultural projects, agri-enterprise, value chains, or rural entrepreneurship.
• Must be a national of the Philippines or a legal resident with a valid Philippine work permit.
• Full proficiency or working knowledge of English at level C is required.
• Excellent writing and report-writing skills in English and Filipino.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and ability to work under pressure in complex, multidisciplinary, and humanitarian environments.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of relevant local dialects.
• Experience with MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
