Senior Principal Software Developer, IT/OT (MES & Factory Systems) (AI)

What you will do

• Design and implement distributed systems, backend services, APIs, middleware, and high-throughput manufacturing data pipelines.
• Own and develop MES integrations with SCADA, ERP, PLM, SPC, and industrial protocols including OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, and SECS/GEM.
• Lead modernization of legacy OT software and design edge-to-cloud synchronization and event-driven architectures.
• Develop AI/ML-enabled features for predictive quality, anomaly detection, process optimization, and production analytics.
• Establish CI/CD, testing, observability, high-availability, disaster-recovery, and deployment standards for industrial software.
• Provide architecture leadership, production incident escalation, RCA/CAPA, system upgrades, patching, and technical guidance across manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams.

Requirements

• Expert-level Python, Django, and SQL experience, including complex queries, CTEs, temporary tables, and performance tuning.
• At least 6 years of software development experience, including 5 or more years supporting factory systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on MES ownership and experience with SCADA, SPC, quality analytics, industrial communication protocols, and 24x7 production systems.
• Experience with AI/ML programming, LLM or AI APIs, AI-assisted development, prompt engineering, and responsible AI or data governance.
• Experience with Vue 3, Quasar, REST APIs, Docker, Azure, IIS, Infrastructure-as-Code, and deployment configuration management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent qualification, plus strong documentation, communication, analytical, and incident-response skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in semiconductor, battery, automotive, or other discrete manufacturing.
• Familiarity with Flask and SQLAlchemy.
• Experience with scikit-learn, pandas, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar machine-learning tools.
