Graduate Talent (Software Application Development Engineer)

Location: Penang, Malaysia; hybrid work model with time split between the assigned hirify.global site and off-site work

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and support enterprise applications, data solutions, and AI-enabled capabilities.
• Build and maintain data pipelines, data engineering workflows, and data warehouse solutions for analytics and AI use cases.
• Explore vector databases, large language models, Model Context Protocol, and agentic AI workflows.
• Develop automation and improve the reliability, scalability, and maintainability of software and data solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams and document architectures, processes, tools, and solutions.
• Participate in design, development, testing, deployment, and operational support.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor's degree in information technology, information systems, computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, data science, or a related STEM discipline.
• Foundation in software engineering and application development, including data ingestion, transformation, pipelines, ETL/ELT, data modeling, and data warehousing.
• Understanding of AI and generative AI concepts, large language models, vector databases, Model Context Protocol, and agentic AI workflows.
• Knowledge of the MEAN stack or similar modern web application technologies, plus basic DevOps and IT service management concepts.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills for working across diverse global teams.
• Open to a minimum one-year contract-based role.

Nice to have

• Programming experience with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, or similar languages.
• Exposure to cloud platforms and cloud-native application development.
• Experience with data pipelines, structured and unstructured datasets, generative AI, RAG, AI agents, or LLM-based applications.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, APIs, containers, or modern software development practices.
