AI First Android Developer

Annual salary: $85,000–$125,000 USD, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and other relevant factors.

What you will do

• Implement Android features across seller and buyer marketplace experiences.
• Build Jetpack Compose interfaces with clear state and event handling, while maintaining legacy XML views when needed.
• Write unit tests and meet CI quality standards for formatting and coverage.
• Use AI tools for coding, refactoring, testing, debugging, documentation, and repetitive development work, verifying outputs before merging.
• Collaborate with Product, design, backend, platform, QA, senior Android, and iOS engineers.
• Develop end-to-end feature ownership, including reliability and operational health, with guidance from senior engineers.

Requirements

• Must be available to work remotely from the United States.
• 3+ years of professional Android development experience or equivalent depth.
• Proficiency in Kotlin and experience shipping at least one production Android application.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose and/or XML Views, Coroutines, basic dependency injection with Hilt, ViewModels, and StateFlow-style UI state.
• Experience with REST networking, local persistence, feature flags, mobile analytics, unit testing, CI, and code review.
• Active use of AI development tools with the ability to critically evaluate and verify their outputs; a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Production experience with Jetpack Compose.
• Exposure to Hilt, Room, WorkManager, or CameraX.
• Marketplace or e-commerce mobile experience.
• Familiarity with hybrid WebView surfaces.
