AI First Senior Android Developer (AI)

Location: Remote, Canada

Annual salary: CAD 125,000.00–16,000.00, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and other relevant factors.

What you will do

• Design, build, and ship Android features for seller and buyer marketplace experiences.
• Lead Android technical direction across multi-module boundaries, Compose and legacy UI coexistence, authentication, feature flags, and analytics.
• Improve unit and UI testing, test coverage, CI gates, Play Store distribution, Firebase workflows, and release health.
• Use AI tools for coding, refactoring, testing, debugging, documentation, and reducing repetitive engineering work.
• Mentor Intermediate engineers and collaborate with Product, design, backend, platform, QA, and iOS teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional Android development or equivalent depth.
• Strong Kotlin experience and production experience shipping Android applications through the Play Store.
• Experience with Android architecture, concurrency, networking, offline and edge cases, app performance, and end-to-end feature ownership.
• Experience with multi-module applications, dependency injection, coroutines, StateFlow, navigation, WorkManager, networking, persistence, feature flags, analytics, and crash reporting.
• Daily use of AI development tools with the ability to critically evaluate their outputs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Production experience with Jetpack Compose at scale.
• Experience modernizing XML and Fragment-based Android applications to Compose and Rx-based code to coroutines.
• Experience with wholesale, marketplace, auction, or high-volume transactional mobile applications.
• iOS and Swift code review experience, mentoring experience, BrowserStack or device-farm UI testing, and hybrid WebView surfaces.
