Associate Director, Visual Design (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States; roles are open in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, New York, Salt Lake City, and San Diego.

Salary: $122,000–$170,000 USD annually for a 40-hour workweek; compensation depends on experience, expertise, physical location, and organizational impact.

What you will do

• Set visual strategy and design principles across digital, brand, product, and other creative touchpoints.
• Oversee scalable, accessible global design systems and guide their evolution.
• Partner with C-suite executives, clients, and cross-functional leaders to solve complex business challenges and ensure technical feasibility.
• Drive complex digital projects from kickoff through completion while managing quality, budgets, deadlines, and client expectations.
• Develop strategic insights, moodboards, craft guidelines, and production direction.
• Mentor designers, improve workflows, and contribute ideas that strengthen the design discipline and company operations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of visual and interactive design experience for global brands, including at least 4 years in a leadership position.
• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Visual Arts, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Advanced Figma skills, including components, variants, and auto layout, plus familiarity with HubSpot, Google Suite, and Slack.
• Strong experience in visual design, user-centered experience design, interaction design, brand development, and robust design systems.
• Advanced ability to implement generative AI tools such as Midjourney, Runway, Vizcom, and Weavy in design production.
• Experience creating modular Figma systems for paid media across Meta, TikTok, Google, and Pinterest, along with strong presentation, communication, and strategic problem-solving skills.
