Manager, Facilities Engineering (Biotechnology)

Location: San Carlos, California, United States; onsite five days per week

Salary: $144,000–$169,000 per year in the San Francisco Bay Area; ranges may vary outside California.

What you will do

• Manage facility engineers and technicians, including daily work allocation and professional development.
• Oversee corrective and preventive maintenance for facility assets, laboratory equipment, and installed building systems.
• Manage HVAC, electrical, plumbing, gas, DI water, BMS, fire and life safety systems, and office and laboratory repairs.
• Coordinate laboratory equipment specifications, layouts, installations, maintenance schedules, and infrastructure projects.
• Manage internal and external vendors, maintenance contractors, work requests, inspections, and emergency responses.
• Prepare reports and compliance documentation while ensuring adherence to regulations, building codes, health, and safety standards.

Requirements

• Associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5–7 years of experience as a facilities engineer, biotechnology metrology professional, or in a similar role.
• 2–3 years of leadership experience managing facilities personnel.
• Experience with AutoCAD, SAP, and CMMS systems; knowledge of building processes, construction principles, regulations, and building codes.
• Strong project management, troubleshooting, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to perform physical duties including standing, walking, climbing ladders, crawling through low spaces, and lifting or moving equipment up to 70 pounds; COVID-19 vaccination is required.
