Staff/Principal Software Engineer (Supply Tech)

Location: Bristol, UK. Remote, hybrid, or office-based work from the central Bristol office is available.

What you will do

• Own the technical direction of the supply platform, including the aggregator API, supplier integrations, and search platform.
• Lead the upgrade of the search platform from proof of concept to the engine powering all search.
• Improve search performance, price accuracy, supplier coverage, conversion, and margin.
• Define measurable outcomes for the supply technology team's impact.
• Coach engineers through pairing, reviews, technical discussions, and clear architectural decisions.
• Champion practical AI adoption in software development, debugging, and operations.

Requirements

• Deep backend experience at staff or principal level, ideally with .NET or a similar typed language.
• Experience designing reliable systems that operate at scale.
• Experience with high-volume data, pipelines, caching, search, or pricing systems where performance and correctness matter.
• Experience designing APIs for external developers; B2B or platform API experience is beneficial.
• Hands-on use of AI tooling in software delivery.
• Ability to coach engineers, facilitate technical discussions, and make pragmatic, outcome-driven architectural decisions.

Nice to have

• Experience in travel technology, including OTAs, bedbanks, GDS, channel managers, or dynamic packaging.
