Senior Applications Developer (MERN)

Location: Avenida Paseo de la Reforma 505, Torre Mayor, 06500 Mexico City, Mexico; hybrid work with at least three days per week in the local office or onsite with clients.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement of enterprise-grade applications.
• Build full-stack applications and responsive, accessible user experiences with MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Design application architecture, workflows, REST APIs, microservices, webhooks, integrations, data services, cloud components, and AI-enabled capabilities.
• Develop event-driven and asynchronous features using queues, messaging, background processing, and resilient integration patterns.
• Evaluate and implement generative AI, intelligent agents, and agentic workflows where they provide business value.
• Contribute to architecture and engineering standards, troubleshoot complex production issues, conduct code reviews, mentor developers, and collaborate with product, business, data, design, and technology stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
• At least 5 years of professional software engineering or application development experience, including end-to-end delivery of production applications.
• Strong professional full-stack development experience with the MERN stack: MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js, and JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
• Experience designing business workflows, application processes, workflow orchestration, or automation solutions involving multiple users, systems, integrations, or decision points.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, API-first architecture, JSON, webhooks, authentication, and enterprise integrations.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including data modeling, query design, and application data access patterns.
• Experience designing for scalability, performance, resiliency, maintainability, and reliability, plus asynchronous programming, event-driven architectures, background processing, or distributed application patterns.
• Experience with Git, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, Agile development, Docker, and Kubernetes or comparable orchestration technologies.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into technical designs and production-ready applications; strong troubleshooting, analytical thinking, systems thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with technical design discussions, code reviews, development standards, and collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders across global, cross-functional teams; professional English proficiency.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python and FastAPI for APIs, AI services, automation, or data-intensive applications.
• Experience designing secure interactions between AI agents and enterprise APIs, data, workflows, and business systems.
• Experience with AI-assisted engineering environments or agentic coding tools.
• Product and systems-thinking mindset, user-centric application development, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to influence technical decisions without direct authority.
• Ability to balance delivery speed with security, scalability, reliability, and maintainability; independently drive complex initiatives, mentor developers, and adapt to changing priorities and technologies.
