Technician IV, Maintenance (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Perform advanced maintenance, inspections, servicing, repairs, and component replacement across propulsion, flight-control, mechanical, electrical, and avionics systems.
• Support aircraft assembly, integration, modification, instrumentation installation, and configuration control according to approved engineering documentation.
• Execute pre-test and post-test inspections and support engine starts, ground runs, hover preparation, shutdown, and other ground-test activities.
• Diagnose discrepancies using technical manuals, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, approved procedures, and diagnostic equipment.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, component traceability, tool accountability, and aircraft readiness documentation.
• Mentor less-experienced mechanics and support root-cause investigations, aircraft recovery, and extended field-test deployments.

Requirements

• 10+ years of aviation maintenance experience with military or commercial aircraft.
• Hands-on experience with turbine propulsion, flight controls, aircraft mechanical systems, electrical systems, or avionics.
• Ability to complete complex maintenance tasks independently, recognize when engineering authorization is required, and resolve discrepancies safely under operational pressure.
• Proficiency interpreting technical manuals, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, maintenance instructions, and configuration documentation.
• Understanding of aviation maintenance safety, ground-test hazards, risk management, maintenance records, and configuration control.
• Ability to travel frequently, support extended field-test deployments, and obtain and maintain relevant clearances or certifications if needed.

Nice to have

• Experience as a senior aircraft mechanic, lead maintainer, or military aircraft maintenance craftsman.
• Experience with developmental aircraft, prototype assembly, flight-test programs, unmanned aircraft systems, VTOL platforms, tail-sitter aircraft, turbine propulsion, or autonomous systems.
• FAA Airframe & Powerplant certification or military equivalent.
• Experience with aircraft modification, system integration, rigging, functional checks, or aircraft recovery.
• Familiarity with flight-test operations, test readiness reviews, data collection, ORM, THA, or SMS processes.
