Language Services Associate (Government Contract)

Location: US (Remote)

What you will do

• Coordinate translation, localization, and interpretation projects from customer request through final delivery.
• Define language pairs, subject-matter requirements, schedules, estimates, milestones, and delivery plans.
• Assign and coordinate translators, editors, interpreters, and freelance language-service providers.
• Review machine translation and automated workflow outputs, perform quality-assurance checks, and validate final deliverables.
• Maintain terminology databases, glossaries, linguistic guidance, project records, and quality documentation.
• Test workflow tools, document system issues, improve processes, and work directly with Python scripts, language rules, prompts, databases, and test harnesses.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, Languages, International Studies, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
• At least five years of professional experience in translation, interpretation, localization, or language services.
• Native or near-native English proficiency and professional proficiency in at least one additional language.
• Experience reviewing, editing, or quality-checking machine translation output and managing multilingual content workflows.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Ability to meet customer-specific background-check, suitability, or clearance requirements when applicable.

Nice to have

• Experience developing or evaluating language proficiency assessments and managing freelance linguist networks.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted translation technologies and large language model platforms.
• Knowledge of government, defense, legal, medical, technical, or scientific translation environments.
• Working knowledge of Python, SQL, scripting, Adobe InDesign, or Illustrator.
• ATA, court interpreter, conference interpreter, or equivalent professional certification.
