Director, Research & Data (MedTech)

Location: Sunnyvale, California, United States

Salary: $222,000–$242,000 USD per year, plus potential performance-based bonuses.

hirify.global is a medical technology company developing a point-of-care EEG platform for rapid seizure detection and improved diagnosis and management of serious neurological conditions in acute care settings.

What you will do

• Translate new clinical indication needs into data requirements and prioritized data acquisition plans with the Data Science team.
• Build relationships with researchers, physician advisors, academic centers, and hospitals; negotiate data access, licensing, and purchase arrangements.
• Evaluate external research proposals, guide study designs, and serve as the scientific contact for collaborations from proposal through data return.
• Lead EMR integration projects with partner hospitals, including data feeds, mappings, workflows, and linked clinical outcomes.
• Assess dataset quality, cohort definitions, label quality, population diversity, and annotation methodologies with data scientists.
• Coordinate data governance, clinical studies, asset tracking, partnerships, and representation at scientific conferences.

Requirements

• Advanced degree such as MD, PhD, PharmD, DNP, or equivalent in neurology, neuroscience, critical care, neurophysiology, biomedical science, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in clinical research, healthcare, or medical technology, including academic research collaborations.
• Strong judgment in clinical research, study design, research proposal evaluation, and clinical data quality assessment.
• Working knowledge of data science, machine learning fundamentals, statistics, sample size and power, confidence intervals, sensitivity and specificity, bias, and confounding.
• Experience with EMR data, clinical informatics, or related integration projects.
• Familiarity with IRB requirements, HIPAA, de-identification, data use agreements, and clinical data governance.

• Experience with EEG or other biosignal data.
