Principal II Data Scientist (Healthcare Analytics)

Location: Remote within the United States; travel 1–20% within the US

What you will do

• Develop innovative statistical, AI/ML, simulation, and advanced mathematical methodologies using complex, high-dimensional healthcare datasets.
• Translate prototypes into products, services, and features with developers, architects, product engineers, subject matter experts, academic institutions, and customers.
• Explore data, formulate hypotheses, design experiments, and evaluate algorithms for clinically and operationally relevant analytics.
• Lead requirements gathering and convert business and clinical needs into methodologies, product features, and backlog stories.
• Produce peer-reviewed publications, prepare patent submissions, and present innovative work at conferences and symposiums.
• Provide data science guidance, mentoring, training, project planning, and operational leadership.

Requirements

• 10 or more years of applicable experience.
• Bachelor’s degree required; a master’s degree is preferred.
• Strong healthcare analytics, statistics, simulation, advanced mathematics, data search and matching, SQL, and data modeling experience.
• Experience with AI/machine learning, software design and development, and large patient or healthcare datasets.
• Ability to facilitate requirements analysis, engage customers, communicate effectively, and make independent decisions.
• Ability to work remotely within the United States and travel 1–20% within the US.

Nice to have

• Clinical or public health background.
• Healthcare research experience and experience teaching in a university setting.
• First- or lead-author publications in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and experience submitting patent applications.
• Experience with customer engagement, collaboration, and conflict management.
