Manager, Freight Audit Services (AI)

What you will do

• Launch and operate a client-facing freight audit service with defined procedures, quality checks, service standards, ownership, and escalation paths.
• Lead client onboarding by collecting contracts, invoices, shipment data, and authorizations, then confirming audit scope and readiness.
• Audit freight invoices against contracted rates, terms, and shipment records; investigate discrepancies and manage carrier disputes through resolution.
• Serve as the operational client contact, explain findings, lead service reviews, and report on confirmed value and potential savings.
• Hire, train, and develop the team while balancing workloads, quality standards, client needs, and cost to serve.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Account Management to improve workflows, pricing, service delivery, automation, and profitability.

Requirements

• Strong results in operations, logistics, financial operations, client delivery, consulting, or a related field.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, including reconciling data in Excel, Google Sheets, or similar tools.
• Clear client communication skills and sound judgment when handling sensitive issues, escalations, and incomplete information.
• Experience managing people, developing colleagues, or leading cross-functional projects.
• Ability to learn freight contracts, billing practices, and audit procedures and collaborate with Product and Engineering.
• Hands-on experience using generative AI to analyze information or improve recurring workflows, with the ability to validate outputs against source data and protect confidential information.

Nice to have

• Experience in freight auditing, ocean logistics, service launches, or client implementations.
• Relevant experience from an adjacent field demonstrating ownership, learning ability, and sound judgment.
