TL;DR
Service Technician II (Commercial Food Equipment): Installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electrical commercial food equipment at customer facilities with an accent on equipment diagnostics, schematic interpretation, preventive maintenance, and safety. Focus on solving field service issues, supporting customers during extended hours, and operating safely across commercial kitchens and other demanding environments.

Location: On-site work at customer facilities and commercial kitchens; travel required up to 50% of the time. The role includes driving, occasional roof access, ladder use, and extended hours including nights and weekends.

Salary: $26.90–$36.40 per hour, depending on qualifications and prior experience.

What you will do

  • Install mechanical and electrical commercial food equipment and assist with advanced installations.
  • Maintain, diagnose, and repair commercial food equipment for contracted and time-and-material customers.
  • Interpret schematics, service manuals, mechanical diagrams, and equipment sequences of operation.
  • Complete and document preventive maintenance and follow safety procedures.
  • Manage assigned vehicles, tools, inventory, and service documentation.
  • Provide professional customer support and identify equipment, contract, and service opportunities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with 2–4 years of electrical and mechanical experience, or 0–2 years of HVACR service experience with EPA certification, or a vocational HVACR certificate.
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude with troubleshooting experience and the ability to use hand tools, gauges, meters, and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and mechanical diagrams.
  • Professional customer communication, problem-solving, teamwork, time management, and safety awareness.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, walk 3–5 miles per day, and drive 5–6 hours per day.
  • Availability for normal business hours, early mornings, evenings, weekends, on-call coverage, and extended hours when needed.

Nice to have

  • Associate’s degree or vocational certificate.
  • Experience with commercial cooking or refrigeration equipment.
  • Industry certification.
