Staff CNC Programmer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Develop, simulate, post-process, prove out, and optimize CNC programs for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machining centers and mill-turn equipment.
• Program and operate simultaneous 5-axis, 3+2, mill-turn, and turning-center applications for complex aerospace components.
• Set up CNC machines from CAD models, drawings, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
• Select tooling, workholding, speeds, feeds, machining parameters, fixtures, offsets, and inspection equipment.
• Troubleshoot chatter, tool wear, surface finish, dimensional drift, burrs, tool breakage, collisions, and machine-simulation issues.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Production to improve cycle time, quality, process reliability, and repeatability.

Requirements

• At least five years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment using CAM software such as Mastercam, Fusion 360, NX CAM, or GibbsCAM.
• Experience with 5-axis CNC machining and mill-turn or multi-tasking CNC equipment with multiple spindles.
• Ability to independently support the full machining process from CAD model or engineering drawing through CAM programming, setup, prove-out, and finished parts.
• Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent education, training, and relevant machining or manufacturing experience.
• Experience with precision measurement and inspection tools and defined quality requirements.
• Ability to work onsite in Hawthorne, California.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, space hardware, automotive, medical device, or other high-precision manufacturing.
• Experience with DMG MORI DMU or CLX platforms, NX CAM, ERP/MRP/MES systems, fixture design, or DFM principles.
• Experience with prototype development, low-volume production, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or complex machining troubleshooting.
